Han Characters

The roots of Chinese characters stretch back 3,000 years. In their modern forms including Japanese kanji, they are used by over a billion people! By playing Han Characters, you can become part of this legacy. Learn the basic building blocks of characters. Collect and combine them to form more complex characters. Then use these characters to create larger words. The more you play, the more you learn.

Hanzi and Kanji

While the Chinese hanzi and Japanese kanji share many similarities, there are also some differences. Therefore, Han Characters will come in three versions: Chinese-specific, Kanji-specific, and Bilingual. Choose the edition that best complements your interests and learning objectives.

Level Up!

Each version includes three levels of play. Each level introduces new characters. You can play each independently or combine two levels for added challenge. Over the course of all levels, you will learn over 100 commonly used words and characters. But most importantly, you'll gain a knowledge of and appreciation for the formation of this amazing writing system.
